I’ve had another electrician ask me about the use of a shipping container (that has exits at each end) to house a switchboard that has a 1000A/three phase supply.
I don’t believe it complies with 2.9.2.2(c)(ii). Even though it has an alternative exit, I imagine in most circumstances this alternate exit will be shut (can only be opened on the outside), making it ineffective? Thoughts?

It's over the trigger point for requiring a 2nd exit; and ALL doors in exit paths must open out without use of key/tool

Have seen many of these. The doors get changed so they can be opened from the inside

I have seen the portable MCCs been done in containers. In fact I will be reviewing the electrical design of 600A Portable MCC soon.
As long as the door space is adequate and inline with the 2.10.2 it is still compliable to have such MCCs
As the containers are made of metal, sufficient ventilation will be necessary to be considered.
