Re: Alternative to MEN in Mining operations - is it a part 1 solution?

Hi Alec, Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it makes sense being Part 1. I suppose in practice its not so simple making the whole installation HRW due to being non-MEN, just for the fact that in mining the use of alternative earth system is common place and there are lots of additional standard to ensure s...

Re: Buss tie changeover switch main switchboard

N + E bar common across all three boards, and it also had generator supply as well. Each incomer had a MEN link, meaning th...

Old cable types

Hey Team, Was just a job the other day a saw some oldish TPS which was solid core 2.5mm primary insulation on the earth as well, not bare earth in sheath. Re: VSD Cable - why multiple earths?

In a symmetrical earth design cable the earth conductors are located in the interces between the phase conductors. This ensures the distance between the phase conductors and earth is consistent. The resultant earth currents now cancel each other out minimizing the common mode current that can flow b...

Hi all, Just doing some personal development in this period of down time. I don’t have much experience in dealing with residential network connections and/ or power providers so bear with me if the following seem like stupid questions. I am in the Auckland area and was looking into the vector connec...
