Re: Tesla Gen.3 Wall Charger
Thank you, Alec, for all the information. my understanding to this, "RCD protection at the load end of the circuit - it has to be at origin" is trying to protect people when getting electric shock from the non-Rcd protected circuit from switchboard to the load. But in many cases, the Tesla Gen3 char...

Re: Switchboard for Generator with RCBO
Thank you, Aleck! Really appreciate! Assuming domestic, or otherwise following part 2, then ESR 60 requires a standalone power system to comply with "4509.1". Which requires setting up a main earthing system for the installation, including a MEN within the installation's MSB (not within the genset /...

Re: Sap 7 or Gap 7 as the bedding materials for Underground unenclosed cables
Hi Aleck, yes, for good practice, I always use HD conduit for the underground cable. But I have been told by someone that it is common to have unenclosed cables in the bedding of gap 7 which I do not think it is good pratice especially when the cables are buried under driveway. By the way, Marley pr...

Re: Sap 7 or Gap 7 as the bedding materials for Underground unenclosed cables
Hi AlecK, Thanks for your information. I google "quarry dust" and find Gap 7 is also known as Crusher Dust or Quarry dust. https://www.captaincompost.co.nz/shop/Driveways++Landscape+Projects/Crusher+Dust.html So in this way, I would assume gap 7 is widely used as bedding materials. Thank you, again....

Re: Sap 7 or Gap 7 as the bedding materials for Underground unenclosed cables
Thank you, Jamie. That is reason why I ask here to see if any one have experiences with this. Normally Gap 7 are used as bedding material for waste pipes. I just wonder can the materials be used for mains cable as well. Is it sand or friable soil? Is it free from sharp stone? If yes, then it's compl...

Re: Bonding Pool and Spa / Bonding Stainless Steel Shower Tray
Thank you very much for the very fast reply, Doug! Just three more questions from your reply: 1. Bonding conductor normally shall have a cross-sectional area not less than 4 mm2, which means the common powerpoint cable, 2 x 2.5mm2 + E, are not suitable for the use to connect as bonding conductor. I ...

Re: Add new kitchen with Electric Hob & Oven and exceed Max Demand
The Q&D way would be to adopt max-demand-by-limitation. But you still need to be confident that that the actual loads will never be enough to cause excessive volt drop; let alone take out the supply fuse ------------ Using calculation (Table C1) you need to move from column 2 to column 3 (2 living ...
