Re: pv must be connected to an MEN switchboard

Thanks. To be honest Iv not heard such a rule from retailers yet.

I don't think the location of inverter connection would matter as long as the meter is at the main switchboard so not sure why they would care.

pv must be connected to an MEN switchboard

Iv heard this rumour a few times from electricians but have not found anything that makes sense to me that backs this up?

Is there any truth in this or can PV be connected first to a MEN switchboard or non MEN SWITCHBOARD (DB)?

Re: Once a PEN is separated can it be combined again in one installation

Alex with all due respect your argument relies heavily on PEN being regarded as a PEC. Only definition I found was 2018 "1.4.99 Protective earth neutral (PEN) * Neutral and protective earth functions combined in a single conductor." Is there anything else? I do agree best practise is certainly once ...

Once a PEN is separated can it be combined again in one installation

After a conversation about if its compliant to have a sub db board (no MEN with own PE) supplying a sub MEN board, a reason given from master electrician was that IEC 60364-1 standards does not let you recombine earth and neutral into a PEN once separated. Questions -I couldn't find anything that ou...

If the changeover switch is not being used as the main switch but is additional is it compliant to be line side of main switch? 7.5.8.1 and 2.3.3.1 suggests to me all installation must be controlled by main switch with no acception to changeover switch that I can see. So if the cable is in the wall for more than 400mm meeting the definition of fully surrounded it should be rated as such.
