Re: Shower with screen, zone 2

Figure 6.8 has "with barrier" in the title, not without. My way of thinking is that Figure 6.8 is the only one that shows the height of the barrier, which is shown at 1.8 with zone 2 beyond it. The other figures just show a barrier, they dont show what height it is, some people assume its a 1.8mtr b...

Re: PSOA questions

Hi, That is not a PSOA as it is non compliant. It is likely deemed unsafe by the ESR (based solely on the link you provided): Regulation 23(1)(g) of the ESR contains a unsafe provision based on a safety function that means an appliance cannot overload its plug. The use of this 'adaptor' allows the ...

Re: Shower Dome

Thanks AlecK

When it was first mentioned to me my first thought was that having a shower dome would make it a full height barrier and cancel out zone 2 (its far enough away from the shower door) however reading the words in 3000 tonight and your reply confirms thats not the case.

Hi there I have a customer that wants a power point next to the shower, I was hoping that them having a shower dome would allow me to do that, however the way the standards are written it doesnt look like a shower dome makes a difference to the zones. 6.2.2.1 (c) (iv) Zone 1 is limited by the floor ...

So in theory they could be a normal PDL 692 power point on a mounting block in that case which would probably look better.

I saw this comment on another thread: "greater than 3 socket outlet an overcurrent protection device rating can not exceed the max rating of the supply lead plug is required;" which I find kind of interesting as I came across a 6 outlet PSOA a while back that had 2 x 10amp type D MCB, each feeding 3...

I havnt done heat pumps for a long time but I feel like I remember seeing one in the past that listed running current and current under fault conditions such as a locked compressor.
I wonder if your two current ratings could be something similar but it would be hard to say without more information

In this case the importer would be the homeowner, as they are not offering it for sale or suppling it for anyone im not sure that applies.

Its not something I have seen happen but was just interested as it appears to be a bit of a loophole in the rules

Not sure that I quite understand what is behind the question. As per ESR78 the WoEF has to be done by an inspector apart from a exception which does include PEW, so will be done by a licensed person either way. I think you mean clause 82 (2) in the act?
My take is in theory it shouldn't be a issue seeing as any work on a electrical installation has to be certified and tested before it is livened.
In practice I doubt anyone selling a house isnt going to admit any non compliant work on it anyway....
