Building Inspector quoting from AS/NZS 3000:2018
Hi All Had an issue today on a new construction site of a large Retirement Village where the Building Inspector was quoting to our guys on site, the earthing requirements of AS/NZS 3000:2018 in regard to framing, in particular section 5.4.6, and what we should be earthing etc. His comment was that h...

Not sure if this is funny, but when I read Alec's recent post under metal bench tops and he mentioned earthing gang nails, that brought back a memory for me when I was a newly registered electrician in the very early 80's or late 70's whenever gang nails were introduced into the building system. PV Inverter incorrectly rated for the PV panels
I have a situation where a PV inverter's label has ratings less than the PV panel ratings: The short circuit current rating (Isc) and the Max power current (Imp)of the PV panel is higher than the Inverter ratings. The inverter engineer's have said that the inverter will be find for these currents ev...

It would be nice to clarify what rondo battens are classified as possibly?

Yes you can, Tri-Cab cables make a variety of cables in 1c and multicore, still need to follow AS/NZS 3000 guidelines. One thing to watch is when terminating lugs/links that there is a technique to follow, don’t remove all the insulation for the lug in one go, otherwise the fine strands of conductor...

You can use shearhead bi-metal connector links from Electrical Connections, I use the ECZS type which has double shear bolts at each end of the connector. The tails I use are copper flexibles, generally you can go down one size (or more) for the copper cables eg 70mm Cu (depends on current/load etc)...
