Is anyone aware of a two pole range switch that is rated for 400V between poles?
All the ones I have looked at are 250V.
Pdl has also lowered the amperage rating of their 600 series version from 45A to 40A, but it has always been 250V.
Voltex have a new one but apparently an error was made on the test application paperwork and it was tested at 250V not 400V as they intended.
They are apparently resubmitting it for 400V testing in the near future.
Just how many existing installations are out there switching hobs and ranges with two phase supplies but only rated for 250V?

For a domestic range; if on 2 phases then neither will need even 32 A, let alone 40 or 45.
So why not use 2 separate switch mechs on a common plate?
(just as you would for separate hob & oven).
By separating the mechs with an air gap, you don't need a 400 V rated switch
PDL have a 32 A mech; and even their standard mech is 20 A resistive.

I could , but it would look better and create less confusion if there was a single switch. Another way would be to have a contactor in a box in the back of a cupboard.

Agree preferable to have a single switch for a complete unit;
just making a suggestion that avoids need for 400 V rating.

Remember for compliance it's only the hob that actually requires a switch;
which is there to allow operator to easily remove the heat source in event of a pan fire.
A switch for the oven is an optional extra.
Isolation for safety, eg when working on the appliance, is not by these switches; but by mcb(s).

From the PDL rep,
"In answer to your questions about the PDL647, that product actually had its ratings changed about a year ago, now only rated 40A @250VAC so no specific 415V rating on it the only 2 pole switch option we have like that which is 415V rated would be the C2031D32-WE in the C2000 series."
