Garage Door Opener

Post by greesleeve »

I have a customer that wants to install an electric door opener in the garage of one of her properties. Its a two story block of flat type arrangement. There is only lights in the garage, no power. And no easy way to get power from the middle flat down into the garage.

I was thinking of looping of the light feed and using a permanent connection unit for it. That way doesn't require an rcd and I recall over 2.3 m and less that 150w can be counted as a lighting point so figured it is possible.

Am I looking at this right or any other ideas?

Thanks

I cant see a problem with that, provided that the circuit protection is suitability rated it doesn't matter what is on the end of the wiring

I also don't see any reason why not also as long as the circuit is suitable for the device which it sounds to be
