Schneider RCBO What does the yellow label mean?

Post by Mazdaman »

On a Schneider RCBO is a yellow label above the bottom left terminal which states "When Line connected to bottom side" with a warning triangle.

The text cannot be seen when the RCBO is mounted adjacent to other devices. What is the significance of this poorly translated text?

The data sheet has no mention of this aspect. A search on the term brings up a Clipsal page which is not much help: "Yellow sticker indicates when line is connected to bottom side. Meaning when eschocen plate is removed easy to identify that line is bottom feed. So if you connect from top side, then remove yellow sticker."

Thank you.

Update: By chance I noticed writing on the inside of the cardboard box and had to use a magnifying glass to read the explanation: "When supply is connected to the bottom terminals, both Line & N bottom terminals will remain live even when toggle is switched off."

Amazing!
