CoV for 6mo+ Re-livening

Post by DibbyD »

Did a CoV for a client today, the installation passed (has been dead for greater than 6mo)

New owner, trying to get power back on for a reno, has gone with trustpower (auckland), trustpower has requested the CoV.

There were seals around the meterboard main switch (service line to the meterboard main switch was live)

Wondering if I'm allowed to cut those seals and reliven myself?
or do I have to get the customer to submit the CoV to the retailer, and they send someone out?

no, you're NOT allowed to cut those seals.
And if you did; you'd be liable for the cost of having the metering re-certified.

Which means you can't re-liven,Trustpower will have to do it
which is why they need to "sight" the certificate (as per ESR 74)

Similar if the isolation is by removal of service fuses; with re-livening by network
Only persons authorised to access linesco assets may reliven

Bit if the means of isolation isn't sealed, we can re-liven things
