Caravan UK socket

Post by Dan L »

Asking this question for a computer iliterate work mate.

He would like to know with a UK imported caravan is it OK to leave UK socket outlet for connection of a microwave ( it will only be used for the microwave)?

I did have a quick look myself.

I may be wrong but assuming the import on arrival will have to be tested to section 8 as3000 and appendix C 3001, i don't see any requirement for socket to be a nz type as long as polarity is correct. (unless I missed it)

Of course uk sockets outlets for general purpose are not fit for purpose in Nz so they should be changed
But a UK socket only only for the connection of a UK microwave I would imagine would be OK to stay?

Much appreciated

Thanks Dan

Read ESR 2010 regulation 61A for the correct answer for a CI. that is why it is not in appendix C of 3001:2008.

ESR 61A has NO effect on what sort of sockets can be installed into, or pass WoEF inspection of, a connectable installation.
