3001: 2022 edition

new 2022 edition of "3001" was published mid Nov.
So far only Part 1 is showing on SNZ website via EWRB link, but both parts are there of you go directly to SNZ.
This will be a glitch in the deal between EWRB & SNZ

There are a few changes to part 1 (site supplies); and a lot of changes to part 2 (connectable electrical installations
All of which will come into force when this new edition is cited - likely early 2023 (yes, I know we've heard similar before).

The changes will have most effect on issuing WoEFs, as the checklist has been expanded to include checks of batteries, PV, segregation from gas, etc.
This will force upgrading of these aspects in many cases.
Plus there will be no WoEF without having RCD protection 9and any N-E link removed)

Your guess is as good as mine.
The decision lies with the Ministry of Everything (MBIE), and they appear to have other priorities.
Like setting up a Code of Ethics so the EWRB can punish us for even more offences; instead of customer disputes being settled via Disputes Tribunal & the district court.
Plus it's now election year (again - the fourth since the last significant changes in citations), so probably over-optimistic to expect any action until next year (at least.

OK I see. No rush to organise new checklists then. Thanks

Agree probably no rush, but certainly worth getting them set up ready.
