Cable derating for cantinary wire AS/NZS 3008

Post by JamieP »

Just looking at 3.5.2.2 (c) of 3008

Is this saying derating need not apply to cables on cantinary wires?

No.

Being on catenary makes no difference to the fact that the cables are still bunched. They are certainly not "installed unenclosed under the conditions and circuit arrangements depicted in Fig 1"; because Fig 1 is all about spacing, bith between conductors and between groups of conductors. It's not practicable to maintain the Fig 1 spacings on catenary.

Oh right, that makes complete sense, I thought it seemed odd. I can see what I had missed now.
