Separation Distances from califont

Post by ElliotT »

Hi all,

Just after some clarification on distance of LV from a gas califont (instantaneous water heater).

I know about distances from regulators (800mm from riser) and distance from cylinders (exchange/in-situ fill) but can't find anything about califonts which are generally plugged in to an outside ppt anyway. I've always just applied the 800mm rule for them when installing heatpumps however would like to know if there is an actual requirement apart from general separation of service lines (gas/water) from LV.

Cheers

There is no hazardous area around a califont. So as long as you don't go into the other areas you mentioned, the socket outlet or other equipment can basically go anywhere around it.
