Arc flash and electric shock analysis

Post by mrbarty »

I'm wondering whether anybody has had any experience with arc flash and electric shock analysis of work in/around switchboards. Is there an easy way to determine correct PPE required to carry out work, relating to the certain maximum fault current and transformer sizes? (industrial site)

Cheers

AS/NZS 4836 "Safe working on or near LV installations and equipment" includes guidance on PPE in general and arc flash in general.
And ESR 100 says we must follow it when doing PEW unless we are instead following a certified design

I have found the following EEA Arc Flash Guide, September 2018, NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, 2018 and AEC, Electrical Arc Flash Hazard Management Guide, 2019 add value to the already listed documents. The EEA is a NZ document.
