Searching from the OLD Electrical Forum

Post by DougP »

This is one method I have found to search for old topics.

Do a direct Google search on the old site by typing your search into Google like this:
rondo site:www.electricalforum.co.nz
search 1.jpg
Right click on the result you want to find, and click "copy link address".

The link address will look like this:
https://www.electricalforum.co.nz/index ... 1431884320

Now go to the old site on the Wayback Machine
http://web.archive.org/web/202001172115 ... rum.co.nz/

Click on any old post in the forum. You'll see that posts ID number in the search line.
search 2.jpg
Then copy and paste the post ID from your google search, over the post ID in the Wayback search line and click the "Go" button.
The post you are looking for will then be displayed.
search 3.jpg
There are some topics that may not have been archived on the Wayback machine. And nothing after Feb 7th 2020.

If you have any questions, just reply to this post.

People are also welcome to copy a topic that interests them (from the old forum) and paste it in to a new one here, if there isn't a forum that suits the posting - Ask.

When copy and pasting please copy the whole thing, don't delete anything, and head up the topic "Imported:" so we know it's been imported from the old forum.
